The International Astronautical Congress

The International Astronautical Congress is organised by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) with global companies, universities and associated institutions. Last years congress was held in the Czech Republic for the first time since 1977. For 2011 it was held, in Africa for the first time in Cape Town, from the 3rd to the 7th October.

This years congress was attended by Mr. Pavel Dobes, Minister of Transport, and representatives from the Ministry of Trade & Industry and Ministry of Education. Czech participation was concentrated in the Czech Trade agency stand.

EGGO Space s.r.o.Czech Trade, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Czech Space Alliance, issued for the International Astronautical Congress, a detailed catalogue of Czech Industries winning ESA tenders during 2011. The catalogue gave participants and visitors detailed information on projects selected during first and second stages in the Czech Industry incentive schemes  AO6052 (2008) and AO6647 (2011). Included is the EGGO Space Ltd project "Development of Test Facility dedicated to Passive Components" with additional company information, photographs and contacts.

The two project stages focused on proposals in line with interests stated in the Czech National Space Plan. This plan is based on the analysis of industrial & academia experience from which it makes reccomendations for future direction and sets itself mid-term objectives and measurable goals for 2016. The Czech Space Alliance welcomes this result, not least because it takes on board many of the industries suggestions and comments.
